August 1990

Jorge Alberto Miño Puga was born in the city of Guayaquil, Ecuador. Third of four brothers, his childhood is characterized by being a lover of sports in general.


September 1998

At age 8, the visionary director of the Academy of Salesianos Club, Dn. Ángel Robusti Basso, guides him to participate in the table tennis training that took place at the Cristobal Colon High school. A year later, Alberto would begin his innumerable harvest of triumphs, which include school, college, provincial, national and international championships.

February 2005

His international take-off is obtained in February 2005, obtaining third place in the 10th International Youth Open in Budapest, Hungary. On his return he would get the world cadets classification representing Latin America, first time for an Ecuadorian, in which he would be in third place in teams, fifth in doubles and tenth in the individual category. Alberto would finish that year by winning four gold medals and being quadruple South American cadet champion and champion of the US Open tournament.

September 2009

During the following years, Miño receives the attention of the Ecuadorian Table Tennis Federation which, together with the unconditional support of his parents, allows him to reach South American, Latin American and World Junior Circuit championships. This record serves as a letter of introduction for the French club Bayard Argentan to open its doors in the league of this country where he spent three seasons (from 2009 to 2012).


August 2012

From that moment and along with the rise in the world ranking, other clubs in Europe were interested in Miño, and which gave way to the club TTC Zugbrücke Grenzau of the table tennis Bundesliga, where he remained for five seasons (of 2012 to 2017).

June 2017

In the season 2017-2018 Alberto move to the 1.FC Köln in the second Bundesliga culminating that season with one of the best scores in the league.

June 2018

In the 2018-2019 season Alberto militates at Borussia Dortmund finishing in the second place with the team and his personal score in the top 5 best players of the II Bundesliga.


June 2019

His good results made his way to into the highest division in Germany. Representing TTC Schwalbe Bergneustadt in the upcoming seasons until today.

April 2021

Alberto qualified for the Olympic Games in Tokio 2020. He took one of the four places available in the Latin America Region. One of the goals that he proposed for himself and becoming the first ecuadorian male Table Tennis athlete to achieve this result.



 July 2021

It was the time to participate on his first Olympic Games. Tokio 2020 was ahead.
